For me the joy of being out in the landscape, and witnessing the wonder of nature is truly thrilling. The glassy stillness of a broad, reflecting the gnarled shapes of a solitary tree; the crashing of waves against the shore or wading waist deep through snow to get that perfect shot of seemingly impossible shapes in a snow drift. Getting up at 4am is no hardship when the reward is a sunrise so fresh and spectacular, that it makes your heart pound and the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.
Being able to share those moments through my photography is a real privilege, and the fact that those images are given a place in people’s homes gives me a sense of pride and gratitude.
